General Submissions are Open

We seek book-length manuscripts in poetry, memoir, fiction, and creative nonfiction that reflect the highest standards of literary quality. We are especially interested in lifting compelling stories, marginalized voices, and works dealing with social awareness or advocacy.

All contracts are individually-tailored and priced to ensure the best balance of affordability and quality based on the needs of your project.

A word about the reading fee.

We do not require authors to presell their books. Additionally, it is our belief that writers should earn from their book sales.

Sable Books is a small, nonprofit publisher without support from any university or larger organization.

To offset the cost of the substantial editorial time required to review and respond individually to all manuscripts, there is a non-refundable reading fee of $50.

You are welcome to submit as many manuscripts as you like, as long as you send a separate reading fee for each.
