SUBMISSIONS CLOSED: Poetry of Protest | Poetry Competition

Poetry of protest has existed in all cultures throughout history. From South America to Africa to the Middle East to Asia to Europe to the United States – everywhere, in every century, poets have raised their voices against injustice.

We seek poems that are passionate in their critiques of culture and society,  that offer honest witness in the hopes of creating social change.

Submit one poem via email  to submissions@sablebooks.org or snail mail (PO Box 39413  Greensboro, NC 27438) plus $2 entry fee per poem. Previously published poems and simultaneous submissions are welcome. Winner receives 20 copies of a professionally designed broadside, and gets to designate a charity or activist group to receive 33% of the proceeds from all entry fees.

Sable Books is accepting submissions through January 31, 2017. Send the poem in the body of the e-mail or attached (blind) as a PDF or Word document.

Multiple submissions are fine.
